His sire, Sarkozy (Sandro Hit/Weltmeyer/Bolero) was a World Young Horse Champion, one of the many high quality Sandro Hit sons to have a lasting legacy on modern sport horse breeding. Starbucks’ dam is by Feiner Stern, a typical rideable F line champion sire, and her dam is by Rubinstein, again a fantastic producer of rideable and trainable horses; and her grandam is the mare Warine, by thoroughbred Praefectus. Warine was the mother of Anky Van Grunsven’s Bonfire. His dam has produced several premium colts and Starbucks himself was awarded the coveted Premium Colt status.

Starbucks is the ultimate gentleman, with a kind and extremely sensible nature who has won or placed in virtually every competition he has been entered in. He has been successful at every level from Young Horse classes to currently at medium and advanced, training PStG movements with ease although only 6 years old. He is also currently being campaigned by Para rider Caitlin Radford, 17, who has achieved much success with Starbucks after only a few rides. The partnership received 69% at their last competition at Boneo Park, proving his versatility and generous and willing nature.

Starbucks is a very well balanced and correctly moving horse who regularly receives 8’s for his paces in competition. His show ring winning looks and flawless conformation, combined with his wonderful soft and trainable demeanour, always attracts attention wherever he goes. Starbucks now has several foals on the ground out of a variety of mares and has already demonstrated his ability to produce very typey foals that share these qualities. All are naturally quiet and easy to handle, beautifully put together and have correct and lovely movement.
